We were instructed to advise on conditional exemption from Inheritance Tax and the valuation of the collection. We were asked to look at all forms of sale, whether privately, at auction, or negotiations in lieu of tax. |

It was important to preserve the integrity of the collection at the same time as selecting a balanced group of pictures for disposal. |

Selected pictures sold at auction raised £1.5million with the major picture being The Harvest by Joos de Momper, which made £771,500 ($1,171,137), a record for this artist. Furthermore, we handled the claim for conditional exemption and negotiated values for probate purposes. |
